The socio-economic study was aimed at collecting baseline information for the development of a tariff structure and management plan for the off-grid electrification project in Meponda and Machele villages of Niassa province. The following objectives were focused on:
– Obtain socio-economic data of households;
– Collect baseline data before the execution of the project;
– Assess the income-generating means of the population (economic activities in the region);
– Assess the Market Willingness to Pay index of households;
– Study the household energy sources currently used by the population;
